Tradition ten months

          ครั้งแรก  วันแรม  1 ค่ำ  เดือนสิบเรียกว่า  วันรับเปรต

       ครั้งที่สองวันแรม  15  ค่ำ เดือนสิบเรียกว่า  วันส่งเปรต

การทำบุญทั้งสองครั้งเป็นการทำบุญที่แสดงถึงความกตัญญูต่อบุพการีผู้ล่วงลับไปแล้วโดยอุทิศส่วนกุศลไปให้วิญญาณของบรรพบุรุษที่ตกอยู่ในเปรตภูมิเป็นคติของศาสนาพราหมณ์ที่ผสมในประเพณีของพุทธศาสนา พุทธศาสนิกชนนิยมไปทำบุญ ณ วัดที่เป็นภูมิลำเนาของตนเพื่อร่วมพิธีตั้งเปรตและชิงเปรตอาจสับเปลี่ยนกันไปทำบุญ ณ ภูมิลำเนาของฝ่ายบิดาครั้งหนึ่งฝ่ายมารดาครั้งหนึ่งจึงทำให้ผู้ที่ไปประกอบ อาชีพจากถิ่นห่างไกลจากบ้านเกิดได้มีโอกาสได้กลับมาพบปะสังสรรค์และ                                รู้จักวงศาคณาญาติเพิ่มขึ้น

ขนมเดือนสิบ  จัดขึ้นโดยเฉพาะใช้ในโอกาสทำบุญเดือนสิบ  ที่จำเป็นมี  5  อย่าง คือ

1.ขนมลา     เป็นสัญลักษณ์แทนเสื้อผ้า  เครื่องนุ่งห่ม

2.ขนมพอง  เป็นสัญลักษณ์แทนแพ  สำหรับญาติผู้ล่วงลับใช้เดินทาง

3.ขนมกง    ( ขนมไข่ปลา )  เป็นสัญลักษณ์แทนเครื่องประดับ

4.ขนมเจาะรูหรือขนมเจาะหูหรือขนมเบซำ  เป็นสัญลักษณ์แทนเงินสำหรับใช้จ่าย

5. ขนมบ้า   เป็นสัญลักษณ์แทนสะบ้า  สำหรับใช้เล่นสะบ้าในวันสงกรานต์

      ในวันแรม  1  ค่ำเดือนสิบ  ชาวบ้านจัดภัตตาหารไปทำบุญที่วัดชาวบ้านเรียกวันนี้ว่าวันชิเปรตเป็นวันที่ยมบาลเปิดนรกปล่อยเปรตชนมาเยี่ยมลูกหลาน  ลูกหลานก็ทำบุญต้อนรับครั้งหนึ่งใน วันแรม 15 ค่ำเดือนสิบเรียกว่าวันส่งเปรตเป็นวันที่เปรตชนต้องกลับยมโลก  ลูกหลานก็จะทำบุญเลี้ยงส่งอีกครั้งหนึ่ง
